El Jurado Internacional de la 43 edición del Festival Internacional de Cine de Gijón, integrado por: Lucía Jiménez, Mania Akbari, Chema de la Peña, Jan Cvitkovik y Torsten Neumann, ha concedido los siguientes premios a las películas participantes en la Sección Oficial:

The International Jury of the 43rd. edition of Gijón International Film Festival, formed by: Lucía Jiménez, Mania Akbari, Chema de la Peña, Jan Cvitkovik and Torsten Neumann, has awarded the following prizes to the films participating in the Official Section:

PREMIO PRINCIPADO DE ASTURIAS AL MEJOR LARGOMETRAJE (Best Feature Film):
"Por mostrar, de forma minimalista, no sólo las relaciones entre los seres humanos, sino también su conexión con el universo gracias a una fotografía onírica y una dirección intuitiva que hacen de esta película una experiencia casi espiritual".
"For showing, in quite a minimalistic manner, not only the relations between humans themselves, but also managing to connect the humans with the universe by using a dreamlike photography and intuitive directing which make this film almost a spiritual experience".
"Ultranova" de Bouli Lanners (Bélgica)

PREMIO PRINCIPADO DE ASTURIAS AL MEJOR CORTOMETRAJE (Best Short Film):
"Por la fuerza visual con la que ataca nuestro subconsciente, mostrándonos el poder del sexo y la fascinación por la destrucción de una forma casi apocalíptica".
"For its visually stunning attack on our subconscious, showing us the power of sex and the fascination with destruction in an almost apocalyptic way".
"Flesh" de Edouard Salier (Francia)

PREMIO AL MEJOR DIRECTOR (Best Director):
"Por encajar los diversos aspectos del oficio cinematográfico, el montaje, la fotografía, la música y la interpretación, en perfecta armonía, lo cual sólo puede lograrse si el director tiene verdadero talento. Jean Marc Valle no sólo domina el medio sino que también logra con total maestría el difícil objetivo de mantener el interés del público por una historia que transcurre a lo largo de más de 20 años y hacernos sentir como un miembro más de esta familia".
"For bringing together the main skills of filmmaking, edition, photography, music and acting, all composed in perfect harmony, which can only be achieved through if the director is truly gifted. PREMIO AL MEJOR ACTOR (Best Actor) ex aequo:
"Por ser un claro ejemplo de un trabajo en equipo y de una interpretación brillante de dos magníficos actores defendiendo una historia con gran virtuosismo y calidad interpretativa, en la que destaca la genial interrelación de un actor con el otro, cómo se complementan y se necesitan".
"For being a clear example of team work and excellent performance carried out by two actors, who defend a story with great skilfulness, dramatic quality and superb interrelation between them, complementing and needing each other".

PREMIO A LA MEJOR ACTRIZ (Best Actress):
Por su brillante trabajo al transmitirnos de la forma más natural el amor, el dolor y la madurez de una madre que se enfrenta a ese momento en que los hijos dejan de ser adolescentes
For her brilliant work in depicting, in the most natural way, the love, the pain and the maturity of a mother who faces that moment when children enter adulthood
Tilda Swinton por "Thumbsucker" (Estados Unidos)

PREMIO AL MEJOR GUIÓN (Best Script):
"Por sus personajes llenos de vida y sentimiento y por el maravilloso desarrollo de las relaciones a través de todos esos años, sus excelentes diálogos y finalmente, por su mágico simbolismo que se entremezcla con la vida cotidiana de una familia de una forma que es simplemente perfecta".
"For its characters full of life and emotions and the marvellous development of relationships through all those years, its excellent dialogues and finally, its magical symbolism interfering with the everyday life of a family in a form which is just perfect".

PREMIO "GIL PARRONDO" A LA MEJOR DIRECCIÓN ARTÍSTICA (Best Art Direction):
"Porque la magia del cine está en recrear un mundo y entrar en él a través de los detalles y las sutilezas, y "Crazy" lo consigue a través de 20 años de historia en los que la dirección artística se convierte en un personaje más".
